HGH comments: The original home of European naïve art is the Montmartre, where the original artists developed and thrived. To name a few: Camille Bombois, André Bauchant, Lucien Vieillard, Louis Vivin, Seraphine and Henri Rousseau. Not surprisingly, we still find a fair number of naïve artists on the famous hill, such as Toupilier, who is the creator of “Bicycle Race”. The painting speaks for itself. A busy community, weather cold enough to leave a winter landscape for us to freeze in and the enthusiasm of the various sports groups participating. Bravo, Toupillier.
