Rabuzin, Ivan: Road to the Forest

HGH comments: Rabuzin is one of the best known naïve artists, next to Ivan Generalic, another Yugoslavian. A dealer called me to say a large exhibition was coming up in London. It was a difficult birth as there were so many good ones to chose from, about 20. I think it took me three weeks to buy it. I have an appreciation for Rabuzin’s extraordinary talents and his treatment of colour. I have never been able to find out the reason and cause for a such a overflow of outstanding artists who all come from the same area of Europe, especially Hungary. Their production is larger than their market. I am fortunate enough to own and enjoy this one.
