HGH comments: This was a hunt. As usual Rona Galleries sent me the invitation to Martin Leman’s exhibition. I attended, but was unable to secure a purchase. Imagine my disappointment as this was already my third unsuccessful attempt to buy a Leman. Then, suddenly, one of the galleries partners telephoned me with the good news ”Are you still interested in Martin Leman?” he said. A photograph sealed the deal and Puss in Boots, one of the finest British naïves, was mine.
